UNIFORMITY OF FE-DOPED LINBO3 SINGLE-CRYSTAL GROWN BY THE CZOCHRALSKI METHOD

摘要
Uniformity along the growth direction of Fe and Fe2+ concentrations in Fe/LiNbO3 single crystals grown by the Czochralski method was studied. The equilibrium distribution coefficient of Fe in the LiNbO3 single crystal was found to be 0.94. Along the growth direction in the grown crystal, the Fe concentration was slightly increased; however, the absorption peak intensity corresponding to Fe2+ decreased linearly. It was suggested from annealing experiments that the difference of thermal histories between upper and lower parts of the crystal during crystal growth affects the Fe2+ concentration dependence on the solidification fraction.
