A comparison of the 2 leading indices of moral development, the Defining Issues Test and the Moral Dilemma Interview, was made using 215 12-25 yr old Ss. The 2 tests correlated .61. When the age variable was partialed out, the correlation fell to .31. Data were also available for Ss' socioeconomic status and intelligence level. Partialing out all 3 variables produced a correlation of .16 between the 2 moral judgment measures.
