ENERGY RELAXATION DURING THE FUSION PROCESS PROBED BY PREEQUILIBRIUM ALPHA-EMISSION IN HEAVY-ION REACTIONS

摘要
Preequilibrium α emission from 14N-induced reactions on various heavy targets has been studied to derive local nuclear temperature involved in the hotspot model. The resultant values of temperature after subtracting the equilibrium value fall almost exponentially with the increasing emission angles in all cases, from which we obtain 1.8 × 10-21 sec as the nuclear rexation time. © 1979, THE PHYSICAL SOCIETY OF JAPAN.
