A gas-saturation apparatus is used to obtain experimental data at near-ambient temperature; vapor pressures in the range 10-1-10-3 torr are presented for the liquids n-octadecane, n-eicosane, 1-methylnaphthalene, and 2-ethylnaphthalene and the solids naphthalene, anthracene, and phenanthrene. Methods are recommended for extrapolating the data to higher temperature. These vapor-pressure data are useful for dew-point calculations in processing of gases containing heavy hydrocarbons such as those found in coal tars. © 1979, American Chemical Society.
