EFFECT OF A LOCAL CHARGE COMPENSATOR ON TRAPPING CROSS-SECTION AND PHOTOIONIZATION ENERGY OF IMPURITIES IN A CRYSTAL

摘要
Electron trapping of Tm3+, Sm3+ and Ce3+ with and without local charge compensation has been studied in alkaline earth fluoride crystal. Some qualitative results show that the lattice constant as well as the type of charge compensation play an important role on the trapping efficiency while the characteristics of impurity has its own effect in the process.
