摘要
Poet of genius, Bacovia is difficult to be integrated in a tendency. He was recognized as the most important Romanian symbolist poet, but some critics pointed out that in Bacovia's lyrical poetry there are some exceeding of the symbolist poetry, noticed as a consequence of the analysis of the poet's composition work. George Bacovia is therefore considered the initiator of a new literary direction, contributing to the emergence of modernism in poetry. Consequently, the essential concern of this work has focused on several directions, namely, to argue the way Bacovia is a promoter and a continuer of the European symbolism direction and, at the same time, an innovator of the poetic language and to prove how symbolism represents the way for lyrical innovations, for using new areas of creative ideas, for combining words and syntactical constructions as diversified as possible, all these aspects having an important role in enriching the themes and the poetic language expressiveness.
