Job strain of the staff in institutions of long-term care. Only a problem for nursing staff?

摘要：
Background. It is widely known that nursing staff in the geriatric long term care is exposed to a high mental strain. By surveying these strains, present research mainly focus on the nursing stuff. Employees from other, non-nursing sectors are mostly excluded from these studies. Methods. In the present study, different elements of strain were compared between nursing staff and non-nursing staff. Results. We found out, that perceived strain does not differ from nursing staff and non-nursing staff. All employees showed similar strain. Conclusions. This means for interventions and prevention, that all sections of a geriatric institution should be included in possible projects - not only the nursing staff.
