摘要
This paper proposes a software defined distribution optical network architecture (SD-DON) that aims to incorporate optical network unit (ONU) sleep/doze modes into dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) algorithms to reduce ONU energy consumption. The proposed SD-DON also can support unified optimizations and efficient scheduling by allocating bandwidth resources from multi-domain perspective in real-time. Additionally, 4-mode dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm (4M-DBA) are designed and evaluated under SD-DON. Results show that 4M-DBA significantly save ONU energy for different operating scenarios.
