Sand. Martins from western Britain (with Ireland) and eastern Britain tend to be geographically segregated while they are in France, though this is not apparent further south. The spring migration route through North Africa and the Mediterranean has been extended eastwards since 1966/1967, perhaps in response to Sahelian drought. © 1979 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
