摘要：

The article features the problems of attaching civil rights and duties to judges in retirement on a legal basis. A special attention has been given to the social status of former judges in retirement though not having reached the age giving the right to monthly lifelong pension. Additionally, the problems are studied as to the welfare of judges in retirement, updating the law on the status of judges according to the current norms and specific suggestions on its improvement are formulated.
