摘要：
Darzens condensation of 2-chlorocyclohexanone with various benzaldehydes to give aryl epoxides can be achieved using sodium hydroxide in dimethyl sulphoxide, while in partially aqueous solvents only p-nitrobenzaldehyde react; it appears that alpha-chloroketones which also have alpha'-hydrogen atoms undergo hydrolysis unless the conditions permit rapid trapping of the alpha-anion.
