摘要
Angular distributions of cesium chloride restituted to the gas phase after a collision with a nickel surface have been determined. A pulsed molecular beam technique was used for the delivery of CsCl(g) to the surface. Single crystal nickel surfaces with (001), (011), and (111) planes have been used as targets. Nickel deposition was used to cover adsorbed species. Incident beam angle and target surface temperatures were experimental variables. Angular distributions were determined by varying the angular position of a movable surface ionization detector. In all cases the angular distributions were found to follow the cosine law of restitution independent of surface orientation, temperature, incident angle, and cleanliness. © 1979 American Chemical Society.
