摘要
Five different procedures for the preparation of strongly basic derivatives of methacrylate macroporous copolymers have been compared. Derivatives containing trimethylammonium and triethylammonium groups were prepared by a subsequent chemical transformation of copolymers of 2,3-epoxypropyl methacrylate and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, and their stabilities under ion exchange conditions were tested. The most facile route is the reaction between trimethylammonium hydrochloride and a copolymer of 2,3-epoxypropyl methacrylate; an alternative route is the reaction between diethylaminoethylchloride hydrochloride followed by alkylation. A highly cross-linked polymeric matrix increases the stability of these derivatives. © 1990.
