摘要
This work aims to investigate the contemporary lo-fi sci-fi cinema in relation to H. P. Lovecraft's concept of "atmosphere" (2011), and Tzvetan Todorov's theory on the "fantastic" (2008). In so doing, three lo-fi sci-fi films will be invetigated: Will Eubank's Love (2011), Zal Batmanglij's Sound of my Voice (2011) and Jonathan Glazer's Under the Skin (2013). The hypothesis herein discussed is that contemporary lo-fi sci-fi films have been revisiting aesthetic postulates previously tackled by Lovecraft and Todorov.
