PHOTODOPING DYNAMICS IN THE AG/AS-S SYSTEM

The photodoping process in Ag/As30S70 layers excited by pulsed light has been studied. The photodoping begins within 0.1 mus after the pulse excitation, and the response amplitude and relaxation time exhibit similar characteristics to those of the transient photoconduction in amorphous AS30S70 and AgAsS2. These observations suggest that the photodoping phenomenon is closely related to photoconduction. A model assuming Ag+ counterflow to the photogenerated hole motion is proposed.
