Experimental data is given on the effect of nitriding in gaseous phase N//2 plus Ar plus Na//v//a//p and sodium in contact with it on the ductility of samples of Kh16N15M3B steel for nitrogen partial pressures of P//N equals 0. 08 and 0. 32 atm at temperatures of 600-700 degree C. Equations are given relating the parameters of the nitriding process to the change in ductility. A determination is made of the allowable nitrogen partial pressures.
