摘要
The objective of this research is to expose the parish of Milla as a precursor in Merida modernity, as the architectural and urban contribution in this town, dictated the stylistic guidelines for future religious buildings. Select this Parish as an object of study, as an example of dialogue between colonial and Republican Merida, considered by the locals as a symbol of their culture and idiosyncrasy, since after the earthquake of 1894, the Church of San Juan Bautista Mile it was rebuilt and inaugurated in 1906, with a neoclassical facade and thus becomes one of the first examples of this style called "a la moderna" while inside remains with its colonial characteristics.
