Administration of justice: A space for protection of vulnerable social groups

The purpose of this text is to analyze political role of judges and political elite in Colombia. Political elite has tried to control justice administration. Clientelism has maintained a close relation with political power. Clientelism is useful for resources allocation in order to satisfy social needs. In this context, clientelism was important to preserve traditional and political domination. In recent decades, this kind of political exercise is not able to satisfy all social demands. This situation, and the new legal options, is an opportunity for the justice administration to replace, partially, clientelism and traditional domination.
