摘要
The Neuroscience Research Program at the University of Costa Rica was created in 1999. Nowadays, it's composed of three main research areas: Neurobiology, Neurogenetics and Cognitive Development. The majority of researchers that belong to the program have a background in psychology, an outstanding characteristic within the field of neuroscience research. This historical perspective shows the process of incorporation and the characteristics of the psychologists within the program. Here we set out the research topics that have been developed with the participation of psychology students and researchers. As an interdisciplinary meeting point, the Neuroscience Research Program has strengths and challenges that should be confronted to contribute to the scientific field both national and internationally.
