摘要
Arthroscopic assisted treatment of glenoid fractures is reasonable for specific fractures. Especially in avulsion and rim fractures, it has been frequently described and has found its way into clinical routine. Fractures of the glenoid fossa may be difficult to reach using an open approach but easy to visualize arthroscopically. For successful arthroscopic treatment, a precise plan is needed. Three-dimensional computed tomography scans help to visualize and understand the fracture. Since fixation is hindered by anatomical circumstances, careful positioning and placement of portals is crucial and must be adjusted to the location of the fracture. Conversion to an open approach should always be possible. Cannulated devices are helpful in fixation, as suture anchors for concomitant labral injuries. Complex fractures of the scapula that need fixation of the glenoid neck or scapular body should be treated in an open fashion. Results are described as good in case series but there is not enough data to compare different modes of treatment.
