This case history, written by the Group Planning Adviser of the Pilkington Group, describes how corporate long range planning has been introduced. Pilkington;s is the largest private company in Britain, and one of the world's major producers of glass. Mr. Pinnell explains the principles on which the planning system is established, the planning organization, planning procedures, and systems for review and control.
