MOLAR EXCESS VOLUMES OF BINARY - SOLUTIONS OF BENZENE AND CYCLOHEXANE WITH C3-C4 ALKANOLS

Molar excess volumes (V(E)) at 298.15 K were measured using a floating and analytic balance and a digital densimeter. The values variation of the V(E) are attributed to a balance between physical, chemical and geometrical effects and are interpreted using Flory's theory with a reasonable agreement. The V(E) is positive over the entire composition range for all mixtures, with the exception of benzene-n-propanol system, where V(E) is negative at low benzene mole fractions.
