EARTHWORMS (OLIGOCHAETA, LUMBRICIDAE) OF SULOVSKE SKALY MOUNTAINS

During the research in the region of State Natural Reservation Sulovske skaly Mounts, carried out in 1971 14 forms of earthworms were detected. To the rare ones belong: Allolobophora handlirschi, Proctodrilus tuberculatus, Eisenia lucens, Octodrilus transpadanus, Fitzingeria platyura depressa, F. platyura montana and Lumbricus polyphemus. Quantitatively and qualitatively the most rich are the earthworms from the valleys and slopes, the poorest ones are in the peaks. Only 7 species live in the meadows while in the forest we found 13 forms of earthworms. According to the composition of lumbricid fauna the investigated region is of a typical character of Carpathian forest in central situations above sea level.
