摘要
In this study it was attempted to determine the influence of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and its desacetylated metabolite (SA) on IL-2, alpha-IFN and gamma-IFN production as well as on PBMC proliferation. Neither compound was found to alter PBMC mitogen-stimulated proliferation or alpha-IFN and gamma-IFN production. ASA, but not SA, significantly increased in vitro production of IL-2. This effect was dose independent within the therapeutic range and was confirmed by ex vivo experiments. The use of ASA as symptomatic therapy for infectious diseases does not interfere with the host immune response and the potential usefulness of ASA as an immunomodulator can be postulated.
