摘要
Nitrogen ceramics are predominant materials for engine components, and non-automotive applications - particularly for wear parts and molten-metal handling - are also set to flourish. High temperature strength and toughness are now adequate although long-term oxidation resistance is still a problem. The ability to join sialon pieces to make large complex components greatly widens the field of applications.
