摘要
When implementing a professional development course that introduces new curricular aspects into teaching the effects of such courses on students' performance are of crucial interest. The paper examines in what manner a professional development course in Luxemburg on the process-oriented competence "problem solving" influences students' problem solving competence. The course was enriched by accompanying material in order to facilitate the implementation into teaching. In a pre-post-design students' performance from classes of participating teachers was measured with a specifically designed test on problem solving and compared with a waiting control group. Because of the results we assume a growth of students' performance for those classes with teachers that implemented the content of the professional development course into teaching more frequently. Based on the results, we discuss indications for designing professional development programs.
