EXTRACTION OF AM(III) AND CM(III) WITH 1-PHENYL-3-METHYL-4-ACETYL-PYRAZOLONE-5

摘要
1-Phenyl-3-methyl-4-acetyl-pyrazolone-5 (HPMAP) was found to extract Am(III) as well as Cm(III) as self adduct species M(PMAP)3 . HPMAP (where M = Am/Cm) towards toluene from aqueous phase at pH = 3.0. In the presence of oxodonor (S), synergistic species M(PMAP)3 . S and M(PMAP)3 . 2S were co-extracted [S = tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP)/di-n-octyl sulphoxide (DOSO)/tri-n-octyl phosphine oxide (TOPO)] towards organic phase. The adduct formation constants were found to be influenced by the proton affinity constants of the donors and those of the beta-diketones as well as by the steric hindrance offered by the three pyrazolone chelate rings (around the metal ion) to the approaching oxodonor.
