OCCURRENCE OF BOTH UROKINASE AND TISSUE PLASMINOGEN ACTIVATOR IN HUMAN SEMINAL PLASMA

Seminal plasma contains two different plasminogen activators. One of these activators cross-reacts with tissue activator antibodies. Inhibition by C-diisopropyl-fluorophosphate (DFP) and subsequent sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS)-polyacrylamide-gel-electrophoresis demonstrated its occurrence in two molecular forms of 63,000 and 69,000 daltons. The other activator cross-reacts with urokinase antibodies. Like urokinase it occurs in two molecular forms of 54,000 and 31,000 daltons. © 1979.
