摘要
The existence and the crystal structure of the intermetallic compounds formed by rare earth elements, yttrium and uranium with mercury in a 1:4 ratio were studied by the X-ray powder method. La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd and U form the cubic R11Hg45 phase, a ≈ 22 A ̊, isomorphous with Sm11Cd45 (space group F 4 ̄3m, Z = 8). Eu and Yb form a RHg3.6 phase isostructural withGdAg3.6. The correlation of the cell dimensions with the rare earth ionic radius is examined for the RZn, RCd and RHg intermetallic compounds. © 1979.
