摘要
In Mexico, the food security of their population is one of the most significant challenges of the State. However, the poverty and the hunger (the opposite of food security) are one of the deepest problems that the Mexican's suffers, despite the great variety of policies and plans implemented during the last four decades. The main causes identified are, the clear stagnation of the minimum wage, the rises in the prices of basic food, the continuous growth of food dependency and the lost of food sovereignty. We propose an agenda that primary focus the strategies of social and economic policies, not only the diminution of the food dependency of Mexico, but also includes measures to build a stronger national food system, It also includes the design of mechanisms that allow an effective link between the cash transfer programs and those programs and policies focused on the distribution and access of food, in such a way that food security be configured as a main government goal and in a lever to reduce the problems of poverty, hunger and undernourishment.
