摘要
On the basis of a preliminary experiment six plant species were investigated for their effects on invasion, development and fecundity of Meloidogyne incognita in the greenhouse at 24-degrees +/- 1-degrees-C. Tomato was the most susceptible and consistently contained the greatest numbers of nematodes and supported the highest multiplication rate. With cotton, sesame and Crotalaria ochroleuca fewer nematodes invaded, development was delayed, and fecundity was low, confirming that they were poor hosts. Corn and pepper demonstrated intermediate interactions with the nematodes. The results are discussed in relation to the mechanisms involved in host status differences and to nematode population dynamics and host susceptibility to damage.
