摘要：

The agricultural soils from different regions in Maharashtra State were subjected to thermal neutron irradiation in a Cf-252 spontaneous fission neutron source at an integrated flux of approximately 10(9) n s-1. The activities of the radioisotopes formed, viz. Na-24, Al-28, K-42 and Mn-56, were measured on a multichannel analyzer coupled to a high purity germanium detector, and the content of these elements in soils was estimated by comparator method of instrumental neutron activation analysis.
