摘要：

We consider the inclusive reaction pp --> LAMBDA-X in the fragmentation region and present a dynamical mechanism which leads to a fair description of all the basic features of the observed LAMBDA-spectrum. We also show in a simple manner why it generates a nonzero LAMBDA-polarization whose magnitude and sign are consistent with existing data.
