摘要
The paper discusses several conceptions of proof in mathematics education, such as intuitive proofs, visual proofs, operative proofs, preformal proofs and generic proofs. This is done from a critical historical perspective on the development of ideas in mathematics education. Among others, we apply Arnold Kirsch's conception of an intellectually honest simplification of mathematics for learning in school. Finally, the paper touches the role of language and means of representation.
