摘要
The results of combined chemical oxidation and biological treatment of the leachate produced in a landfill of domestic refuse are presented. By applying aerobic biological treatment on a bench scale, using acclimated sludge, the COD removal was quite limited, ranging from 32-38% of the initial values in seven days and reaching the values of 43-47% in fourteen days. The process is very effective for BOD and ammonia removal, 98% and 99% respectively. The combination of the processes of a first stage biological oxidation followed by chemical oxidation and then a second stage biological treatment gave the best results for COD removal, reaching 73% of the initial concentration.
