摘要
The purpose of this research is to analyze the effects of Socratic discussion on critical thinking in freshmen of Psychology at the University of Narino. A quasi-experimental study of the type pre-post test was performed, covering four competences: inference, explanation, points of view and self-control. The results indicated that the competences increased in a significant way after applying the action program excluding the self-control that was moderately significant. Broadly speaking the critical thinking increased with the action plan. We can conclude that the competences in critical thinking were developed through Socratic discussion, in the university students, and additionally, such technique makes easier the processes of knowledge construction and motivates the students during their learning process.
