摘要：
The probability density functions (distributions) of two vegetation indices: the normalized difference ND and the infrared/red ratio R are derived. Approximate formulas for determination of their means are found. Applications in the field of Remotely sensed data of the distributions confidence intervals and other statistical functions are discussed.
