NEW DETECTIONS OF 6.6-GHZ5(1)-6(0)A(+)-METHANOL EMISSION TOWARDS SOUTHERN HYDROXYL MASERS

摘要
Southern star-forming regions identified by the presence of 1.6-GHz hydroxyl masers have been searched for the presence of methanol using the 6.6-GHz 5(1)-6(0) A+-methanol transition. 18 masers are detected from a sample of 62 sources, and methanol is seen in absorption towards two positions. Four of the detections are located in the far side of the Carina spiral arm. The 3sigma detection limit in the search was 1.5 Jy.
