摘要
Combined scanning and friction force microscopy was employed to study the low-load friction behavior of monolayers of C-60 molecules grown epitaxially on GeS (001). While the friction force F-f on GeS was found to be proportional to the load F-1, the C-60 monolayers exhibit a F-f proportional to F-1(2/3) dependence. As a result, an inversion of contrast in the friction force images with increasing applied load could be observed.
