A METHOD TO ANALYZE 24-HOUR HEART-RATE-VARIABILITY

An original method of registration of 24-hour heart rate variability and software designed for heart rate analysis are presented. As low heart rate variability could be found both in healthy and sick persons it is important that the new technique allows to assess frequency of episodes of low variability. The method was applied for investigation of heart rate variability in different groups of patients. In the course of these studies several new parameters were introduced which characterized width of a histogram dome and made it possible to evaluate only systematic heart rate variations even in presence of recording artifacts.
