IMPROVED MEDIAN FILTER FOR RESTORATION OF IMAGES CORRUPTED WITH GAUSSIAN-NOISE

摘要：
A new median filter for the restoration of images corrupted with additive Gaussian noise is described. Statistical analysis and experimental results show that the performance of this improved median filter is better than that of the standard median filter for erasing Gaussian noise, especially at high noise levels.
