摘要
Corporate culture which is defined as shared core values, belief system and the whole that communicates these values by symbols, ceremonies and myths has been one of the most important competitive advantages of today. Especially, corporates which have strong, market-centered cultures that support corporate stategies are likely to gain positive outcomes in terms of effectiveness and efficieny. However, in order to get positive reflections from a corporate culture, first of all, corporations have to manage their culture in an acurate way, communicate their core values and belief system to the staff by using appropriate methods and techniques, do their best to adapt them to this culture, and understand what kind of functions are fulfilled by that culture within the corporation. The primary aim of this study is to put forward a theorical framework about corporate culture, and then explore management practices of various firms running in different industries, characteristics of culture, how core values are communicated, and the cultural functions and reflections within those firms. Keeping that primary aim in mind, the field research carried out tries to explore the opinions of middle and large scale corporations about corporate culture and its characteristics, determine what kind of methods are used in order to communicate that culture to the staff and what kind of functions are fulfilled by that culture. According to the results of that research, most of the firms which have been interviewed are found to have a cognitive corporate culture approach, implement various practices in order to manage their cultures and have opinions about the functions of their cultures.
