摘要：

The basic principles governing the attenuation of a light beam by a suspension of particles are outlined. The paper describes an instrument, developed from a commercially available adsorptiometer, that can be used to determine the turbidity produced by a suspension of particles in a liquid. The sources of error in the use of the instrument are briefly discussed. © 1969.
