BAND-STRUCTURE OF TYPE-II PBTE/PBS SUPERLATTICES

The band structure of type II misaligned superlattices was calculated in the envelope-function approximation. It was shown that in such superlattices the trasition from semiconductor to semimetal conductivity should be observed at the thicknesses of components' layers d/2 = a = b similar or equal to 65 Angstrom (T = 77 K). At the thicknesses of layers a similar or equal to b less than or equal to 60 Angstrom the IR-sensitivity is possible in the wavelength region lambda approximate to divided by 20 mu m.
