摘要
The formalism required to treat the time-dependent diffusion of the light particles of a Lorentzian fluid from a given initial state is developed at the microscopic level in terms of an appropriate solution of the Boltzmann equation. Comparison is made with the results obtained from the alternative macroscopic approaches based on Fick's law and the telegrapher's equation. It is shown that the development via the Boltzmann equation leads to a microscopic telegrapher's equation. A solution is also presented for the case where a potential gradient is applied.
