摘要：

The present article aims at the analysis of the novels A chuva imovel, by Campos de Carvalho, and Lavoura arcaica, by Raduan Nassar. From incest - a common theme to both narratives - we propose to discuss the relation between power, body and subjectivity which emerges from the libertarian gestures of the protagonists of both novels. Taking the family as an institution which represents the status quo, we observe the way that Andre Medeiros, from A chuva imovel, and Andre, from Lavoura arcaica, promote the questioning and corrosion of family order, claiming a place for individuality in contradiction to the increasingly weak particular identities and the enhancement of collective aspects promoted by the family's oppressive behavior.
