Engineering Optimization and the Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

摘要：
This paper presents a modified particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO) for the treatment of constrained optimization problems with constraints. Several engineering design optimization problems were tested with the proposed algorithm and the obtained results are reported and compared with those obtained through another approach based in PSO, as well as, different evolutionary algorithms, such as Evolution Strategies and Genetic Algorithms. The conclusions are derived and directions of future research are exposed.
