摘要
From the point of view of his spatial organization and landscape, the Natal city of twentieth century can be studied from the literary creation that elected her as the object. The work of two authors in particular, the poetess Palmira Wanderley, in late 1920, and the chronicler Newton Navarro, between the 1950s and 70s, provide elements for the reconstruction of spatial changes, social changes and emergence of new socials subjects in urban scene. This paper seeks, moreover, to restore the relationship between the texts of literary nature and the forces that interfere in the material evolution of the city within the Natal's urban history: the emergence of the ideals of urban modernity, in the 1920s, to the postwar, when begins to direct the spatial organization of the city aimed at inserting the tourism market.
