摘要
A digital research library (DRL) is a collection of electronic information organized for use in the long term. To meet user needs, the founders of a DRL must accomplish two general tasks: establishing the repository of electronic scholarly materials and implementing the tools to use it. Move important, long-term commitments are needed if scholarly information is to be available over periods longer than human life: organizational commitments, fiscal commitments, and institutional commitments. The establishment of DRLs is directly related to the changes taking place in the library profession.
