摘要：

The article deals with the biography of a Russian historian and philosopher. His was a typical way of Russian intellectual who had to live through the Revolution and the Civil War. Fedotov's religious views, his hostility towards Bolshevism as well as the persecutions of intelligentsia in Soviet Russia became factors that led to his natural choice of emigration to the West where he continued his work.
